Last year I started experimenting with all natural simmer pots to keep our home smelling great with just items found in the pantry. I came up with ideas for more summery scents using lavender and chamomile but to me, nothing beats the warm scents typical of fall and winter… I LOVE the earthy and spicy smells that remind me of the holidays.

Below I’ve put together a few of my favorite combos I like to put on the stove during the holidays…I hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

Directions:
Fill a small saucepan with water and bring to a boil. Add all ingredients, continue to boil for a few minutes, then turn the heat down to simmer. Add water as needed to make sure the water doesn’t dry up.

Please note, the following measurements are just approximations… I just throw all of these things into the pot… If you like a stronger cinnamon smell, add another cinnamon stick, etc. 🙂

1 vanilla bean (cut into 1” pieces)
2 bay leaves
2 whole star anise

2 tablespoons whole cloves
2 tablespoons whole allspice
